With D23 underway, we have been treated with loads of new information regarding various Disney properties. Through all the announcements, a particular comment by Mark Ruffalo has caught our attention and may have even crushed some fan’s dreams. After Mark walked off the stage at D23, Variety went on to ask about the chances of him leading a solo Hulk movie to which he replied:

“I just want to make one thing perfectly clear today that a standalone Hulk movie will never happen. Because Universal has the rights to the standalone Hulk movie and for some reason they don’t know how to play well with Marvel, and they don’t want to make money.”

The comment made by Ruffalo has thrown some serious shade to Universal Studios, however, this snarky comment shows that Ruffalo is very interested in leading a Hulk movie. While we may have had a solo Hulk movie already starring Edward Norton, it seems many fans are eager to see Mark Ruffalo lead his own solo film.

It is unfortunate to be informed that a Hulk movie may never happen, but hopefully if Thor: Ragnorok is successful in the box office, Universal may recognize the potential Hulk has to create a box office hit. If the tides do turn about a Hulk movie, it would be interesting to see what could happen in a Hulk movie with Mark ruffalo as the star.
